OpenLane Selects LoudCloud Systems to Power New Competency Programs

LoudCloud’s FASTRAK System to Power OpenLane Education for Enthusiast Programs

Dallas, TX, November 24, 2014 – LoudCloud announced today that OpenLane, a continuing education provider that delivers hybrid educational offerings targeted at enthusiasts, has selected LoudCloud FASTRAK for its new competency based programs launching in early December. The selection comes after an extensive process of vetting software-as-a-service solutions offering a competency based platform.

OpenLane’s management has extensive experience in investing and operating competency based education programs and views LoudCloud’s platform as the ideal medium for enthusiasts to build their knowledge in fields ranging from the performing arts to wine tasting to watchmaking. OpenLane evaluated multiple platform providers and services organizations to support developing and delivering their competency education. That search process culminated with the selection of LoudCloud’s FasTrak.

“LoudCloud offers an innovative platform that balance academic rigor with a user centric interface, that complements highly experiential, in-person learning” said Peter Enestrom, CEO and Founder of OpenLane. He continued by saying “LoudCloud demonstrated a deep understanding of competency based education and offered us the tools to provide sustained academic excellence, while providing us the ability to lower the cost of education and creating engaging user centric experiences.”

OpenLane will begin offering hybrid skill based learning opportunities for those interested in music, food and wine in December of 2014, primarily in New York City and Los Angeles. Its experts in the music field, for example, involve Grammy Award winning producers and engineers. It will then expand its geographical footprint by partnering with relevant physical sites – such as music studios and restaurants – that complement its online offerings across the United States.

“We are very pleased to be working with OpenLane and their new offerings,” said Manoj Kutty, CEO of LoudCloud Systems. “FasTrak, our SaaS based CBE platform, continues to rapidly attract customers who are committed to delivering a high quality, engaging teaching and learning experience.”

LoudCloud has invested heavily in creating learning systems that meet the needs of traditional students, while creating an environment that allows universities and school districts to start new models such as competency based programs.  LoudCloud’s LMS, FASTRAK, and K-12 products all espouse the concept that one size does not fit all, and provide platforms that can be flexible to the needs of each environment.
